Biography

Tenor Mattijs Hoogendijk graduated cum laude from the Zwolle Conservatory, singing Schumann’s Dichterliebe and Tamino in Mozart’s Magic Flute. He continued his studies with Cora Canne Meijer in Amsterdam and has appeared in various operas with Barokopera Amsterdam including: Purcell’s King Arthur and Dido and Aeneas. An accomplished tenor with a versatile voice, Mattijs was recently heard in Monteverdi’s Maria Vespers, as the evangelist in Bach’s Johannes Passion and Mozart’s Requiem. His art song programs, with his wife, soprano Sonia Bjornsen, have been presented in The Netherlands and the United States. Mattijs sings with the world renowned ensembles Cappella Amsterdam and the Nederlands Kamerkoor. Highlights are performing as soloist under the direction of Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Valery Gergiev as well as the recent CD recording of Pärt’s Kanon Pokajanen under direction of Daniel Reuss.

Le ténor Mattijs Hoogendijk a remporté son diplôme du Conservatoire de Zwolle cum laude, interprétant Dichterliebe de Schumann et Tamino dans La Flûte Enchantée de Mozart. Il poursuit sa formation auprès de Cora Canne Meijer. et se produit volontiers à l’opéra, en particulier pour l’Intégrale Purcell de Barokopera Amsterdam. Il est soliste des oratorios de Monteverdi à Bach et de Rossini à Britten. Avec sa femme Sonia Bjornsen, il tourne en récital aux Pays-Bas et aux Etats-Unis. Il est membre du Nederlands Kamerkoor et Cappella Amsterdam de renommée mondiale et a chanté sous la direction de Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Valery Gergiev et Daniel Reuss.
